The squares move the selection across a plane (or two axes at once). The arrows move the selection along an axis. Linked Transform - Whether to transform blocks together (default) or independently. Transform Pivot - Where to rotate around or scale from - either the base (default) or the center of the last selected block (or the center of the selection, if Frame of Reference is Global). restrict movement to 0.5 metre steps, or rotation to 45 degree steps.įrame of Reference - Transform objects relative to the world (default), or relative to the last selected object. Snap Value - 'Step' transformations by this value i.e. There are various settings for how the transform tools manipulate selected blocks. Hold LAlt to reverse the direction of this step. Press Ctrl + D or click the button to duplicate the selection.Ĭlicking on the transform tool will transform the block by one step, in one direction. Note that drag selection will select blocks whose 'centers' are covered by the drag box. You can also drag to select everything in a region. This is a modded option - You can find the mod here.Scale - Displays a gizmo which scales the selection*.↺ Reset Rotation - Resets overall machine rotation.Rotate - Displays a gizmo which rotates the selection*.⩡ Ground - Moves the selection downwards until it hits something (like the ground, or another block)*.Translate - Displays a gizmo which moves the selection*.What I'm trying to say is the physics and vehicle building mechanic is already leading the market, and the level design is pretty bland, so focusing on actual gameplay and progression to draw new players in and keep current players excited is, in my opinion, the best option. In Besiege, you can pass 90% of levels if your vehicle is sturdy and has a movable cannon. It kept you on your toes and meant that most levels required a unique vehicle. For example, some levels might be courier missions, the next might be blow stuff up, and the next would be a speed that you would have to reach.

Also, win conditions were different and exciting. Overall, that game is not well-liked, but the level structure of a semi-open world was fun and meant menus were extremely rare.

I will likely never say this again, but perhaps Spiderling could take a leaf out of Rare's book with regards to Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts. As it is, the game is very short, repetitive and easy if you're playing for the missions, which all new players are. I personally think more levels with more creative win conditions is the way forward for this game. I will share any beneficial work if i get around to it, block manipulation and tooling to keep track of every little change done to a specific block, say i rotated a specific block 30 degrees, being able to actually verify that later on, a slice tool, to slice blocks to better adapt them to a build, braces needs serious work, being able to define the mass of a set block within a certain range, define block hardness, make block scaling affect it's mass. Whether people enjoy levels or not, it shouldn't be the priority, it's been such a long time and we're still lacking many basic tools, the most progress was actually made by the community.

I've already made several personal mods and additions, i'm well familiar with that process, levels isn't what's keeping this game alive, it's the building possibilities that is, it shouldn't be necessary to make custom blocks for a specific model, there should be tools in place that allows one to manipulate and adapt set blocks, if i had more time i could probably make a tool that could do just that, Besiege should be made free to play and 100 percent open source so we could have some progress.
